I am so beat. 4 am, time for sleep.

Finally reached page 30 on Break today, wooo~! All the characters have been introduced now, so far as I have it planned out. And I got through the first really tetchy part — Jon’s freakout — and I think it went okay. Will flesh out why he’s so psycho later in the story, but.. yeah. For now, sleep.

So, Ultraviolet kind of pissed me off.

Page 22 on Break is up. Art’s kind of bleh on this one, and the crappy-ass paper that I was forced to use ended up scanning really dirty. Oh well. This introduces Jon, probably the last big character to introduce. I worry about him being too pretty-boy, but I think it works okay.

After looking at it some more, I’m going to go back and redo page 18 one more time, giving a brief pause between her parking and running into Marine Guy. But in the morning.

I redid pages 18 and 19 on Break, cause they were confusing people. I’m still not quite happy with the pacing of Marine Guy showing up RIGHT after she parks, but I’ll live with it, for now. Ideally, I’d squeeze another beat in there, where she’s walking to the door, and he says that from offscreen. Then she turns and looks, and it’s him at the truck.

But oh well.

Sorry Break updates have been sporadic, I have been putting together demo reel stuff and sending it out to places. Looks like I may be working for a short stint at the place that does/did the effects for Battlestar Galactica, Buffy, Firefly, and Serenity. I don’t think I’d be working on any of those shows, though — they’re looking at crewing up for pilot season, so I’d probably be working on the fifteenth Friends spinoff, starring that guy Rachel dated for an episode who turned out to be agoraphobic. Or something equally terrible. Don’t you know? I can’t work on good shows. It’s in my contract.

Speaking of which, Ultraviolet finally comes out this weekend. I plan on getting mighty toasted and going to see it. Then driving down to San Diego on Sunday and seeing my friend Gabe, who’s in town for some conference. I would not do that while drunk, though.
