Insane recluse elected to schoolboard, although nobody has ever met him. He submitted his name, without any statement, any platform, any experience, any prior contact with the school system, and was elected with 54% of the vote over a dedicated ranger with 3 kids and years of experience.



IMsmarter is a nifty little piece of tech. It’s smart in that it updates your registry or preferences, without downloading anything, and is all server-based. Though, if it’s popular, it’ll soon be worthless, as their server will get hammered relentlessly.

Will be trying this on Linux at work today, see how it holds up.


Thought this overview of Southern Baptism was interesting. Dunno how widespread it is, but it would make a couple encounters I’ve had make a bit more sense. Certainly reflects some of my Jewish upbringing (though not much).
